Welcome to the wind band program at the University of Massachusetts! On our website you will find information regarding our ensembles, our graduate conducting program, the Annual High School Honor Band, and our summer conducting institute. The wind band program at UMass is recognized as one of the finest in the northeast, and our ensembles, faculty, and graduate students regularly receive regional and national recognition for their professional work and performance.

Recent wind band events include: the University of Massachusetts Wind Ensemble's tour to Pennsylvania and performance of the opening concert at the Eastern Division Conference of the College Band Directors National Association at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in March 2012, the Power and Class of New England, the Minuteman Marching Band's appearance at Bands of America in November 2011, the Wind Ensemble's fall 2012 trip to Hebron, CT, Dr. Miller's joint presentation with Prof. Lynn Klock at the National College Band Directors Association Conference in North Carolina in March 2013, the upcoming releases of 2 compact discs featuring the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band from 2009-2013, and our newest announcement of a NEW fall semester concert band starting in fall 2013. This exciting new fall semester concert band guarantees all students on the UMass Amherst campus a home to make music.
